Cities4Peace: Combating Urban Violence One Breath At A Time

Today, the world is in the grip of violence arising from a multitude of factors such as drugs, religious extremism, ideologies, and mental health-related challenges (depression and anxiety) resulting in suicides, homicides, domestic abuse, and mass shootings. Senseless violence can happen anytime, anywhere, and to anyone, regardless of our bank balance, our socio-political views, or our zip code. It can happen in our neighborhoods, at our schools, and at the coffee shop around the street corner.

Be part of the solution: ‘Be The Change’

If you believe that:

  • It is time that each one of us stands up for peace, and no longer remain, bystanders
  • It is individuals like you and me, who need to bring about the change we wish to see in our society
  • It is important that we get involved in a personal capacity, towards creating a safe, inclusive society for our children and future generations

Then, do join us for an online global event,Be The Change’ to be held on 2nd, October 2022 (U.N. International Day of Non-violence). During the event, you will learn how to actively promote peace, and mental well-being, and create more awareness about non-violence in your organizations and communities. The event will feature interactive panel discussions with inspiring peacemakers from across the globe.

Cities4Peace: Case study from Los Angeles

Cities4Peace brought together LAPD officers, former gang members, and community members for our Ambassadors of Peace certification training program.

Cities4Peace used a consultative approach to design an experiential and interactive program, using Sudarshan Kriya (SKY Breath Meditation) practices and Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar’s wisdom to deepen the relations between LAPD officers and community members including former gang members, at-risk youth, parents, and educators.
